Dr. Carter2012-03-12 21:24:33Cruel and callous. It has been about 2 weeks since the funeral. I have not been able to even form into words how unpleasant and distasteful the staff operated. The staff was pushy and disgusting with offensive side comments and gestures: a staff member even went to put her arms up in the doorway of an entryway to BLOCK a BLOOD relative from making their way to their seat in order to go “another way”. Additionally, the funeral home was packed to standing room with family from all over the country for the farewell. The SAME staff member (light-skin/ braided up do) made (VERBATUM) comments while walking thru the crowd, “The family thinks that they can just show up late and get a seat—I don’t think so…” WHAT?! NO ONE CARES TO HEAR YOUR THOUGHTS! Even after the funeral, as people were leaving—a male staff member (dreads) abruptly asks the one of the deceased niece, “What are you waiting for? The funeral is over.”—IS THIS HOW YOU TREAT YOUR MOURNING CLIENTELE????!! SO RUDE!? SO INCONSIDERATE?! Mind you, it was only 9:05pm--the funeral JUST ENDED! There are ways to go about things, ESPECIALLY in this business, when dealing with people who have lost their loved ones. Clearly tact is not a qualification for employment at the Madonna Funeral Home. It is totally understandable to have coordination and organization in such a large group—but the staff IS HORRID and IGNORANT!!!! If they were GIVING away caskets/ ceremonies---I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEM! It is a SHAME that those 2 individuals speak for the ENTIRE business and leave such a NASTY memory in the minds of those in such sorrow. This was a time to remember the memories and mourn the loss--NOT to be CONSUMED by such aggravation! It is reasons like this that small businesses close down--you FAIL to realize WHY you EXIST and for that reason, you will FAIL.
