Halbritter Funeral Home - Niles, MI Richard Nelson Obituary announcement - Posted by Rick and Gail Griffis Ross 2012-03-27 15:37:52 My heart and prayers go out to you in this time of loss. I will always remember the welcoming smile and hug every time I saw him, the wonderful voice in the choir and his service to Holy Trinity. There are so many memories of times gone by but the one that shall stay with me always was when he was in the nursing home recuperating and he spent time with my mom. He was so very gentle and spent time talking to her and holding her hand. That meant more to me than you know! Just his presence lifted my mom up and there is nothing that is more precious than giving someone the gift of friendship.
I know that there will be difficult times yet to come when holidays approach, his birthday and just times when memories overflow. Know that the Lord is your strength and He will see you through. Memories are special, let them bring healing and laughter. My thoughts and prayers are with you all!
Please give Marie a hug and kiss from me and let her know I'm thinking of her especially at this time.
