I would like to extend my sympathy for the loss of your mother.

I know we grew up and traveled different paths, but I do have so many memories of your family. I remember when my brother Bobby and I went to your house in Trenton for a barbeque; I guess it was called a picnic back then. I was about eight and mostly talked to cousin Bobby. Yet I do remember Guy and Carla.
I remember how I loved Aunt Doris' garden and how your dad reminded me of Lord Byron. Of course I didn't know who that was then, but in later years I was struck by the resplendent golden similarity. The men drank beer in the back yard and the women served and washed dishes telling stories all the while.

We don't know each other. I don't know if your childhood was as turbulent as mine. My parents, Cortlandt and Pauline, have died years ago. But since both families are Gaiser in nature, perhaps you have also received these gifts from your parents.

I see and feel the soul of a suffering face. Conversely, my heart responds to beauty in this world whether it be a painting, words, an ocean sunset or a simple kindness. I hope you may know these treasures and many others bestowed with love from our parents.
