Mark D Heintzelman Funeral Service - Centre Hall, PA Dr. Richard Herman Cole Obituary announcement - Posted by Alex Mann 2012-01-16 19:04:06 I wanted to express my sympathy at the passing of Dr. Cole. My mother just sent the newspaper clipping and I wanted to write a short note to express my appreciation for his calling the early Contra Dances at the HUB at Penn State. His excellent calling led me to continue to be involved in the Contra Dance community in Maine where I now live. A number of years ago when I started researching an old, Maine, Contra Dance book, I began thinking of Dr. Cole, his Maine connection, and how he got started calling Contra Dances.
I wanted to wish Margaret, his wife, well and express my deepest gratitude to her for his getting me started in this old New England tradition.
